Changemaker 2026

Jim Drury is Head of Frontend Technologies at Virgin Media O2, bringing two decades of development experience from major UK enterprises including the BBC, TalkTalk, and Barclays.

Since VMO2 adopted Storyblok, Jim has led migration after migration across the business: a customer service knowledge hub rebuilt on Next.js, an Assisted Sales platform built in six weeks by a team of three engineers, and over 6,000 pages moved off outdated systems like Drupal, LifeRay, Strapi, and eGain — with entire sites rebuilt in as little as four days. "Storyblok enabled us to achieve a multi-million-pound annual saving, streamlining and centralizing multiple platforms and use cases into one," as the wider team puts it.

At JoyConf, Jim unveiled Storyblok React Native Live, a mobile preview solution his team built and open-sourced so editors can preview content changes directly on their phones — a good example of how he pushes Storyblok's extensibility to solve problems well beyond the standard web use case.
