After framework and editing restrictions with their previous CMS (Strapi), Tablecheck (opens in a new window) switched to Storyblok to build an English site for its global expansion. With a 120-day migration to Storyblok, Tablecheck can now manage content across various teams without a complicated interface or clunky code. Today, TableCheck is fulfilling its internationalization across 4 languages and growth goals using Storyblok.
Challenges that restricted Tablecheck’s growth to new markets
TableCheck’s team knew that their old setup with Strapi could not support them in the long run. The brand aimed to expand its presence in other markets. This made having a CMS with localization and incorporating other languages a crucial need. Yet, finding a solution that offered this functionality without extra costs was difficult.
The key challenges TableCheck faced included:
- An inefficient editing approach: All site changes previously fell on the developers. Additionally, developers had to understand the Ruby on the Rails framework and React frontend. Over time, this resulted in many bottlenecks.
- Content editors couldn’t work independently: Any content updates were limited by the need to ask for help from developers. As a result, this took away precious development time.
- Inability to scale internationally: The available solutions were pricey, rigid, and hard to grasp.
Solutions that helped TableCheck access new audiences
With a 4-month migration, TableCheck’s content and technical teams achieved their mission of empowering worldwide hospitality. Today, they use Storyblok to power their marketing website in Japanese and for their global audiences.
Storyblok's headless setup has benefited and supported TableCheck’s global expansion with the following:
- Simple universal editing with the Visual Editor (opens in a new window)
- Content modeling (opens in a new window) suited to configure and compose components
- Localization features to expand into new markets
- Boosted SEO capabilities (opens in a new window)
- Seamless image manipulation with Storyblok’s Image Service (opens in a new window)
- Improved support for all queries
Many of the editing struggles are solved with the Visual Editor. With the ability to track live changes, content editors can follow and organize changes on the go. Employees can configure components and understand their appearance before publishing.
On top of this, the content creation team has complete control over their work. Content updates are done independently, eliminating the need for developers to update or build pages.
One big part of this was the flexibility of creating and editing layouts for the content team to use. Storyblok offers simple universal editing, content modeling, localization, and SEO capabilities. With this, the content creation team gained independence and creativity, saving precious time and resources.
TableCheck switched from Strapi to Storyblok to expand globally. Storyblok's headless CMS provided better editing, modeling, and localization capabilities. Today, TableCheck can manage content across teams, save time and resources, and boost productivity.
